If you have ever been interested in learning a new sport, then snooker may be just for you. Although this is not an all-inclusive orientation to the sport, it will give the beginning player a basic understanding of the game and how to play. It is also intended to help beginner players get prepared to play in the King of the Table Beginner Snooker Tournament scheduled for Saturday, April 27th, 2024.

In this class, we will cover the basics of game concept, strategy, rules, cueing, bridging, understanding potting angles, introduction to drills and game play. All cues, bridges and tables are provided but you are welcome to bring your own cue.

Drills we will practice:

  • Potting in side pocket.
    • Stopping the cue ball while potting in side pocket.
    • Screw back to opposite side pocket.
    • Top spin forward to same side pocket.
    • Pocketing blue ball with slight angle (using red line balls for lining each cue position – up to 2 red balls on each side of the cue ball).
